Top didn't display because the target was off the screen. Will find a way to test for that and display it on the bottom. Went into db fine.

ok, worked. Although might be confusing until I get the post comment form to open just beneath the comment being posted to.

TEST A LONGER POST: I'm going to go ahead and plug in the latest revision of my new posting routine. I think I've worked out that particular bug in this version, though there are still some new features I'm working on. It should be in in about 10 minutes. Hmmmm... actually, I may try installing a test "Post" button just to the right of the regular "Post" button and run parallel for a bit. Go ahead and use it when you see it. If you'd like to experiment further with it, start (or go to) a test thread and enter several comments in a row using the test Post button and watch where they go in on the screen. Try clicking on various "Comment" links in your testing series and see where the newest comment using the test Post button gets inserted. Should go just beneath the comment you are replying to. When completed, this routine will also open the posting form just beneath the comment you're posting to. It'll make more sense then. But in any case, the comments will go into the db in their regular posting sequence so when you refresh, they'll appear in that sequence. Hopefully we'll be able to add a "Threaded" link to display the comments in the conversationally threaded sequence (more or less).

Hot dang! I think it works!
Top?
except the top
After two full days of trial and error, I've finally discovered ".one" opposed to ".on" in:
$(document).one("click", "#testajaxPostComment", function() {
'twas firing multiple times in a loop.
