Yeah, I need to fix that. Need to add the code to the new comment display routine. Shouldn't have to do a refresh to see that the names were added.

Sorry folks, this "Comment" linkie thing is going to remain confusing as hell until I get it all working together. Will try to smooth it out tonight or over the weekend.

Thanks, meanwhile I got the "hover over" on the like count almost in. Just hover your mouse pointer over 1 Like, 2 Likes, etc, and it should pop-up a box with the names of the likees. As usual, there are a few new tricks I've got to learn and hack through, so it's not quite complete yet. Doesn't work on comments displayed by "show all comments." Suspect it's because they're not really in the "DOM" yet so I can't get their div IDs (or something similar). "DOM" is a new concept to me and I'm not up to speed on it yet, Just hacking my way through. Will git 'er done.
Using jquery on this hover over on the like count to get a pop-up box routine. Pops up a hidden div of names. Learning new tricks.
And I'm beginning to see how I'm going to do the routines to display short "lead-ins" on large chunks of text which will remain hidden, then use jquery's "magic" toggle to show the rest.
Yeah, and I see the calender routine and the tool tips and the animations and the serialize, etc. Pretty spiffy stuff. Will be replacing a whole bunch of clunky javascript routines as I get 'er figgered out.

Clicking "test comment" beneath a post changes the recipient of your ping, IE allowing you to sort of reply
to a particular post. Which is leagues better than most canned forum systems.. but hey, I'm from FR. I'm spoiled that way.
What do you know, it orders your response beneath whatever post you're replying to.
That'll take some getting used to for me, as it kinda jacks with continuity of conversation flow
for the rest of a thread.. I'm not used to paying attention to the time stamps of posts.
Could be fun during flame wars though.. "telegraphing" posts further downthread...
Well, it only does that temporarily on screen while your posting session is active. The post actually goes into the database at the end of the thread. When you refresh the page, it'll be listed at the end. I'm wanting to open the posting form just beneath the post you're commenting on, but there's a bug in my routine that I haven't been able to ferret out yet. But I'll get 'em eventually.

Actually, it does allow you to reply to a particular post. It also sets the "Reply to post number" internally in the db. When I get the routine finished, you'll be able to click on a post to see the comment it's replying to.
It's pretty sweet watching things develop.
